Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote is a lovely city break destination if you fancy a change from our tourist resorts.

Sunbeds and umbrellas have been available to hire on the beautiful Playa del Reducto since the end of August. There’s 160 available in two areas of the beach, the daily price is €3 for the sunbed and €2 for an umbrella, or €8 for two beds sharing an umbrella. Apparently this beach used to have sunbeds on, way back in the 60’s according to the council. Sunbathers will also be able to hire pedalos & kayaks from this location.

This beach in the heart of the capital also has a lifeguard service, ramp access and showers, their aim is to win the blue flag award for 2015.

The Hotel Lancelot has been nominated for the Distinguished Tourism 2014 award by the Tourism Department of the Ayuntamiento de Arrecife, the winners of which will be decided on the 27th September as part of World Tourism Day. The Lancelot was specifically constructed for the tourism market, opening in 1969 making it the first in Arrecife and second tourist hotel on the island, the Fariones in Puerto del Carmen was the first.
