Puerto del Carmen:

The XVIII Torneo Pesca de Altura La Tinosa 2014 will be held from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th of October in the harbour of the old town Puerto del Carmen. This big game fishing competition attracts boats from other islands with a maximum limit of 50 vessels. The competition is held over 2 days with the boats leaving the harbour at 09:00 returning for 17:00 to confirm their tag and release catches with photographic evidence. To qualify for the tournament champion and top prize of a vehicle, a blue marlin weighing at least 300 kgs must be caught. The prize giving dinner will be held in the Plaza del Varadero at 21:30 on Saturday.
