Costa Teguise is the second holiday resort to celebrate carnival in Lanzarote, the programme covers events from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th of March.
The striking mutant anaconda carnival poster was the jury’s favourite from the 18 entries submitted to the Amazon Rainforest themed competition. Designed by Idafane Jesús Elvira the snake’s skin is patterned with the diablete design and features the distinctive Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe church in La Villa de Teguise.
There’s a fancy dress race at midday from Santa Rosa, before the main parade in Costa Teguise on Saturday 7th March which starting at 18:00 from outside the Sands Beach Resort hotel. Around 40 carnival groups will be participating in the procession along the Avenida Islas Canarias. This year’s fancy dress theme is Amazon Rainforest, although if you’ve already been to one of our carnivals, you’ll know that anything goes!
