We had the pleasure of being shown around the island’s most historic house yesterday, a few days after Channel 4 filmed the property for one of their programs. The Palacio del Marqués in Teguise was built in 1455, and was the head quarters of The Canarian Government for 270 years. The original conqueror of The Canaries, Jean de Béthencort appointed his nephew “King of The Canary Islands” and it was from this house that he ruled.
