Torquay author and regular Lanzarote visitor, Margaret Sherlock will be presenting and signing her latest psychological thrillers "Blind Truth" on Wednesday 6th of March 2013 at Picnic Lanzarote, in the Avenida in Puerto del Carmen from 16:00 to 18:00.

Blind truth

In true writer's fashion, here is what Margaret has told me about herself, her writing and her connection with Lanzarote:

"Although we live in Torquay — part of the English Riviera, which boasts the warmest temperatures in England — winter can still be cold, damp and grey. My husband and I first discovered Lanzarote over 13 years ago when in need of a winter break and warm sunshine. That first two weeks set a precedent which led to more and more visits, and Puerto del Carmen became our favourite location. We still marvel at how you can board a plane at Exeter (our local airport) and in under four hours be transported to a sub-tropical paradise, where creativity flows as naturally as the rising sun.

Over the years, as well as making numerous friends, of all nationalities, we have discovered many delightful places of interest. César Manrique's House at Tahiche and The Cactus Garden at Guatiza, being two of our favourites. There is also a wealth of natural beauty to be found away from the tourist hot spots. Travel by car, bus or even on foot into the countryside, and discover, especially in the winter months, a large variety of beautiful and unusual flora. Rambling with friends in the remotest parts of the island is one of our favourite pastimes, as well as enjoying the variety of excellent restaurants.

As an Author, it's natural to want to promote and develop my readership. I bring with me a small stock of books each time I visit Lanzarote, enabling me to sell them through the island's Bookswops and to set up one Book Signing in order to meet and chat with book lovers and writers. Patricia Betancort, of Picnic Cafe/Bar, Puerto del Carmen, has kindly agreed for me to hold my next event there — an establishment which promises to become a magnet for book lovers and writers. AGAINST ALL ODDS and BLIND TRUTH, the first two in a series of psychological thrillers will be available to buy at 9 euros each.  Although not essential, I would recommend reading the series in sequence. The third book in the series, which should be published by the end of 2013, is partially set in Lanzarote. SO WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

I try very hard to keep my website updated and it is here that Kindle readers can easily download all three of my books. Although I have Twitter and Facebook accounts, I have to confess, these avenues are neglected. Not because I have no desire to interact with more people, but in order to prioritise my time and keep a balance between doing what I love best — writing — and making sure I keep active and healthy.  For further information you can contact me through my website www.margaretsherlock.net."

Thank you Margaret and looking forward to meeting you in person shortly!
