We’re coming up to walking season in Lanzarote - the summer is pretty much too hot to enjoy walking far on the island, but winter is perfect for exploring some of the stunning places and incredible views we have all over the island. And where else in the world can you stroll into a volcano?
We’ve been recommending Paddy Dillon’s excellent book, Walking in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, for a few years now. It has 45 walks in it, including 14 stages of the GR131 trail, and is full of great photos and useful tips, as well as practical information like getting transport and where to stop for food and drink. There are even two walks on La Graciosa, and all have maps and turn by turn directions.
