Our meal at Restaurante Las Maretas this week was definitely worth waiting for, and I’m not referring to the service.
This restaurant has been tucked away in the corner of the Las Maretas commercial centre in Costa Teguise for closing in on 30 years, and yet this is the first time we’ve eaten there, despite it’s good reputation. Bizarrely one of the reasons that we’ve not eaten here before is their success, as you do need to book in advance, and quite often we dine out impromptu.
There’s a full and very reasonably priced menu available at Las Maretas, but you should definitely listen to the many specials from Domingo before making your choice. We ordered the local prawns from La Santa which were stunning! The prawns had been fully shelled, with just their heads left for decoration, they were served hot on a bed of sea salt. The prawns off the specials menu were deliciously juicy and sweet, highly recommended. It’s also a large portion, around 30 of them so good for sharing. read more »
