Yesterday we attended Foundation 2’s Christmas Concert at the British School of Lanzarote in Tahíche.
We were delighted to have been invited by the school to join the mums, dads and grandparents to watch Foundation 2 perform their Christmas Concert. These children are all aged from 4 to 5 years old, for many Spanish is their first language.
After a rendition of Jingle Bells and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, the class performed the Nativity Story. Everyone had a line or two during the play, prompted in loud whispers from their teacher, which only increased our enjoyment.
It was lovely to watch these little ones acting out the story behind Christmas. The camels were really amusing, these three children really dramatised the song hand actions, there's definitely some budding actors in the making in this class.
The children then sang When Santa got stuck up the Chimney, the Father Christmas Song and We wish you a Merry Christmas to finish. For their encore, they sang When Santa got stuck up the Chimney especially loud for Santa, as it’s his favourite – we have to agree, it’s ours too.
