The sports department at Yaiza’s Townhall are organising a Carrera Benefica to collect food for the municipality’s food bank.
Under the theme: "take part at your own pace" you can choose from two modalities for this event: a 10K race or a 5K walk.
The charity run / walk takes place on Saturday the 15th of December at 10:00am starting from the Plaza Alameda in Yaiza.
There is no entry fee for this event, instead they are collecting food donations. Non-perishables items are preferred like milk, rice, pasta, pulses, tinned goods etc. They will also accept toys to distribute to children in need this Christmas.
To register in advance you can telephone 928 836 834, or call in person to the "Concejalía de Deportes" at the "Ayuntamiento de Yaiza". You can also register an hour before the race at the starting point.
Even if you don't want to run, you can always participate with the "Dorsal 0" by registering a food donation, but without taking part in the race itself.
It's the season for giving, more than ever, so why not participate, one way or another? You will be helping those less fortunate too!
