The delegation of tourism students aged between 20-25 years old, visited the Escuela de Turismo de Lanzarote (EUTL)  in Tahíche, Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism and the Fundación César Manrique during their visit.

Students learned of the courses offered at our Tourism School and were given two talks, one entitled “Lanzarote. Phases & Problems. Opportunities. XX Anniversary of A Pioneering Biosphere Reserve (Unesco, MaB Programme, 1993)” by Aquilino Miguélez, from the Observatorio de la Reserva de la Biosfera de Lanzarote, and another from Héctor Fernández, the managing director of the Patronato de Turismo de Lanzarote (tourism board) in Lanzarote. Journalist Larry Yaskiel also gave a presentation on the relationship between the UK and Lanzarote.

The Minister of Education and Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Emma Cabrera was full of praise for the visit to promote the island of Lanzarote and boost the work of the EUTL, she commented “It's very good news that a prestige university such as Hertfordshire were fixed on our Tourism School and the tourism destination of Lanzarote as a good example of our relationship with universities and our social environment. The education contribution from the creation of a sustainable destination is very important and positively welcomed that it has been internationally recognised.”
