It seems like last week's change of day was a one off as the English language cinema is back to Thursday next week.
These are the three films shown on the 12th of December:
Atlántida Cinemas in Arrecife are introducing at 19:45 The Counselor.
Written by Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men) and directed by Ridley Scott. A rich and successful lawyer called Counsellor (Michael Fassbender), finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking after meeting middle-man known as Westray (Brad Pitt) as he is about to get married to his fiancée (Penelope Cruz).
The critics seem to agree that the story looks great on paper but fails to deliver. I say go to see it and judge for yourself: with Cameron Diaz and Javier Bardem, completing the cast, there is at least eye candy for men and women alike!
And also showing at the same time of 19:30, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
The much awaited sequel the futuristic yet primitive reality show based on Suzanne Collins' trilogy. After winning the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and her partner, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) must go on the Victor's Tour visiting all of Panem's districts. But they become targets of the Capitol after their victory sparks a rebellion. Also starring big names like Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland and Philip Seymour Hoffman. See if you spot Lenny Kravitz too!
And Deiland Cinemas in Playa Honda are showing The family at the new time of 20:20. The Manzonis, a notorious mafia clan, relocate to Normandy under the witness protection program. Fitting in in a sleepy French town soon becomes challenging as their old habits die hard. Despite of the stellar contributions of Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones under the direction of Luc Besson, this black comedy has very weak, not to say bad, reviews. Watch at your own peril.
