The Carnival Programme for Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote has been published, here’s what to expect from the 6th to 9th of March 2014.
Apart from the Carnival parade, the other events will be held in the Plaza del Varadero which is situated by the harbour in the old town area of Puerto del Carmen. There isn’t a particular theme set for the carnival in Puerto del Carmen, other municipalities have chosen the Olympic Games & Olympian Gods if you’re looking for inspiration but really, anything goes!
We thought we’d include a little explanation of Carnival phrases for visitors who might not know what to expect, Murgas are a group of singers with a story to tell, Comparsas are dance groups with percussion and Verbenas are open air parties.
