English cinema in Lanzarote 24 y 27 March 2014

At Multicines Atlántida in Arrecife :

At the slightly earlier time of 19:50 Labor Day continues. Titled Una vida en 3 días ("A life in 3 days" in Spanish), this is movie adaptation of the novel by Joyce Maynard, tells us the story of an escaped and wounded convict (Josh Brolin) who is helped by a single mother (Kate Winslet) and her 13 year old son (Gattlin Griffith). The tension builds up as the police searches for him.

At 19:35 the multi Oscars nominated and newly introducedNebraska. Director Alexander Payne's new road movie. Woody Grant (Bruce Dern) travels from Montana to his natal Nebraska in order to claim a million-dollar prize alongside his estranged son David (Will Forte).

And also newly introduced at 20:10 The Grand Budapest Hotel. A comedy about the adventures of M. Gustave (Ralph Fiennes), a famous European hotel's legendary concierge, and his trusted friend, lobby boy Zero Moustafa (Tony Revolori). The story is inspired by the works of Stefan Zweig and is directed by es Anderson.

At Multicines Deiland in Playa Honda:

Alt the later time of  20:45 La belle et la bête. As the title suggest, the latest movie adaptation of the classic fairy tale will be in French. Vincent Cassel (The Black Swan, La Haine) and Léa Seydoux (Inglourious Basterds, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) are the actors playing the two main characters.  Directed by Christophe Gans (Silent Hill, Necronomicon: Book of Dead) this "real people" interpretation will certainly be a bit darker than the usual sweeter cartoon versions.

At the earlier time of 21:45 The Monuments Men continues.  An unlikely World War II platoon is tasked to rescue art masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their owners. George Clooney has written and directed it this  film based on a true (his)story, you might say! He also stars in it alongside Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Cate Blanchett.

As a reminder, on Wednesdays tickets are priced at only €3.90, except on bank holidays.
