Last year we celebrated a Lanzaroteño in the Olympics and this year we have a BAFTA nomination!
Spanish costume designer Paco Delgado has been nominated for his work on Tom Hooper’s film Les Misérables, which premiered in London during December 2012. The British Academy Film Award Nominations were announced this week, Delgado has also been nominated for an Oscar in relation to this film.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote were quick to publish the news, congratulating Francisco Delgado for his Oscar, BAFTA and Goya nomination for Paul Berger’s film White.
Paco Delgado explained during an interview regarding the wardrobe created for Les Misérables, that team walked the streets of Paris and read the original version of the book to get a real feel for how the characters would have lived at the time.
Paco doesn’t live in Lanzarote, his home and studio is based in Madrid. We haven’t seen the production as yet but by all accounts it’s amazing, hence all the nominations. Certainly one to watch out for and we’ve got our finger’s crossed that he wins the BAFTA award.
