We’ve got a special invite for walkers and trail runners in Lanzarote on Saturday 26th January 2013 – come and complete a 25.6km route with us around the north of Lanzarote!
The Lanzarote Challenge Trail & Trekking event has been organised for the Irish walkers who are back for a week of exploring Lanzarote with the Lanzarote Active Club from the 20th to 27th January, you may remember last year we had the Irish Challenge. This year the Haria Trail Team and Bishopstown Hillwalking Club will be participating again, as well as teams from Sands Beach, Club La Santa and Lanzarote Information.
The route’s a tough one! As you can see it has it’s ups and downs passing by the five volcanoes in the North La Caldera, Los Helechos, La Cerca, La Corona & La Quemadita, so you need to be a fit walker or trail runner to participate. The start and finish point is the Plaza in Haría, as we have to complete the route within daylight the start time is 8am. The route will be well marked so that you can run / walk in a group at a pace you’re comfortable with, the majority of walkers finished in 5-7 hours on the last event.
