The programme of events for carnival in Tinajo began yesterday with a children’s workshop to create carnival masks and costumes in preparation for the parade this coming weekend.
The main carnival events in Tinajo will be held from Friday 1st March through to Sunday 3rd March, which falls the same weekend as the carnival in Teguise & Costa Teguise.

17:00 – 20:00 Workshop to prepare for the pensioner’s feast in the Centro de la 3ª Edad.

21:30 Gala de Carnaval with a performance from La Escuela de Baile Moderno, Comparsa los Cumbacheros & Drag Queens. Followed by a verbena popular with groups Orquesta Travesía & Lanzarote Swing
Saturday 2nd March
12:00 Dog’s fancy dress competition in the tent behind the Salón Parroquial
18:00 Desfile de carrozas, carnival parade leaving from the Plaza de Los Dolores with comparsas, murgas and batucadas to the campo de fútbol. Followed by a verbena popular with the Dúo Los Sabrosos, Los Conejeros & Banda Nueva
Sunday 3rd March
17:00 – 20:00 Children’s fiesta with inflatables in the Salón Social
18:00 Gymnastics exhibition with participation from the Escuela de Tinajo, grupo AMPA Tomare (San Bartolomé) & Centro de Gimnasia Isla Lanzarote
