Remember the book signing Blind Truth that I wrote about last year?
Well, I attended it and met the author Margaret Sherlock and her husband Bryan. What a lovely couple! I must admit I was a bit intimated by meeting an actual writer. But they are very down-to-earth, "normal" people. It's clear they love Lanzarote and all it has to offer. They specially enjoy trying new restaurants, revisiting their favourites when they visit and also exploring the island hiking.
I caught up with them again recently at Picnic in Puerto del Carmen - where we first met! - before they headed back to the UK where Margaret is about to release the third and final book of the Lyn Porter trilogy.
This is a brief synopsis of "Hounded":
"On a week's holiday to the sunny island of Lanzarote Lyn Porter discovers there's more to this sub-tropical paradise than sun and sangria. Venturing alone in this rugged terrain, she becomes trapped in a darker more sinister dimension. Can she survive the most terrifying night of her life?
Meanwhile in the chill and damp of Devon, the incorrigible Vinny Conway, unable to resist the lure of buried gold, lays himself open to an unfathomable perilous assault.
Interlinking motives, schemes, unfulfilled desires and promises, keeps the reader riveted to the very end. Madness and badness, deaths both natural and unnatural, conclude this thrilling, chilling, tree-book saga..."
So as promised, part of the book is set in our island! I can't wait to read it to see if I recognise any places!
I must say, I have read the first installment "Against All Odds" and I was immediately grabbed by the unexpected things that happen to the lovable but brave Lyn Porter. "Blind Truth" is on my list of books to read and I hope to have done so before the new book is available in Lanzarote around springtime when Margaret and her husband intend to be back on our shores.
We will keep you posted!
