The tourist information office situated on the Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen have extended their opening hours to include Sunday.
The decision is part of a cooperation agreement between the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Ayuntamiento in Tías to improve their service to tourists and generate employment. The new opening hours of 10:00 to 14:00 every Sunday, created a job vacancy and allowed the council to contract someone until the month of June.
Councillor for Tourism in Puerto del Carmen & Tías, Nerea Santana explained that it is the councils intention to keep the office open on Sundays as well for the second half of the year, when it’s a period of high occupancy and a service of vital importance for the main tourist resort of the island.
